Verdict
The Huawei P Smart S, released in 2020, is another budget-friendly smartphone aimed at users who prioritize display quality and camera capabilities without breaking the bank. It sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ OLED display, delivering rich colors and sharp contrasts, which is impressive for a phone in its class. The phone is powered by the Kirin 710F processor, which handles day-to-day tasks smoothly, though it may show some lag with heavier applications or games. The P Smart S features a triple-camera setup, similar to the Huawei Y8p, with a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. This combination allows it to capture clear, detailed photos in good lighting, and the ultra-wide lens adds flexibility for wider shots. For selfies, it has a 16MP front camera that performs well for social media posts. With a 4000mAh battery, the P Smart S can last a full day with moderate usage, making it reliable for daily use. Like other recent Huawei devices, it does not support Google Mobile Services, instead relying on Huawei's AppGallery, which may lack some popular apps. Despite this limitation, it’s a good option for users who want an affordable smartphone with quality screen and camera features and are open to Huawei’s app ecosystem.
