Predictive text input - definition

Permits the client to enter text by squeezing just a single key for every letter on a keypad where different letters share keys. As a word is placed, the telephone consequently looks at all conceivable letter mixes against an underlying word reference of words, and figures out which word was expected to be composed by the client.

It is feasible to look (without re-composing) through everything conceivable matches until the right word is found. This component permits quicker and simpler composing than the standard composing technique where some keys should be squeezed a few times until the right letter is shown on the screen (a.k.a. multi-tap).

The most famous kinds of predicative text section are T9 and Motorola's iTAP.
