Maemo is an open-source Linux-based working framework for cell phones and tablets, created by Nokia and improved with local area exertion.
The Maemo operating system was at first intended for Nokia Web Tablets, a setup what began in 2005 and finished in 2008 with the Nokia N810 WiMax release. These web tablets include comparative chipsets to Nokia's top of the line N-series and E-series cell phones, yet miss the mark on communication, have a scene UI, which runs on 4.1-inch touchscreens with the moderately high goal of 800 x 480px.
The last emphasis of Maemo was called Maemo 5 and was highlighted on the Nokia N900, which was not promoted as a Web tablet. It had a communication usefulness, a 3.5-inch screen and a slide-out console. A picture UI was presented interestingly.
In 2010 Nokia declared it will be blending the Maemo project with Intel's Moblin operating system (another Linux-based open source portable operating system) to make another operating system, called MeeGo.
