MeeGo is an open-source Linux-based working framework for cell phones and tablets, grew at first by Nokia and Intel as a typical replacement of their Maemo and Moblin operating system projects.
MeeGo is expected to run on different equipment stages and it upholds both ARM and Intel x86 processors.
MeeGo utilizes a few UIs relying upon the gadget it runs on. The MeeGo operating system v1.2 Harmattan was intended for cell phones and came around on items like the Nokia N9 and the dev gadget Nokia N950.
Nokia deserted the MeeGo project in the mid 2011 and its improvement was passed on to the open source local area, the Linux Establishment and Intel. In September 2011, notwithstanding, the Linux Establishment and Intel dropped MeeGo for Tizen operating system.
Another Finnish organization called Jolla declared in 2012 that it's prepared to proceed with the improvement of the Meego branch (Mer), to foster another working framework called Sailfish operating system, and send off a cell phone in 2013.
